Work Process Lead

Oxo products are the core competency of OQ Chemicals. We are producing more than 70 oxo intermediates and oxo derivatives for customers in a wide range of industries with various end market applications. Our chemicals are important ingredients in products that are used in daily life around the world. "We" refers to more than 1,400 OQ Chemicals employees worldwide. At our plants in Germany, the USA, China and the Netherlands, we produce intermediates and derivatives.
Job Purpose
The Work Process Lead is responsible for overseeing the Maintenance operational work processes of OQ chemicals to support business functions and client requirements. The lead will evaluate the efficiency of workflow procedures, identifying inconsistencies, and revise processing techniques as needed to improve deliverables and maximize productivity.
The position will act in accordance with the Group's Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines and international standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, and HSE standards.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
• Lead the Work Process Team (Scheduler, Planners, Gatekeeper, Maintenance Projects Coordinator)
• Lead continuous improvement of the work process
• Interact Daily with Operations to understand maintenance needs and communicate progress of maintenance work through work process team. • Work with Operations and Scheduling to insure maintenance work is planned, scheduled, and executed efficiently and within reasonable time frame to promote stewardship of the maintenance budget
• Own and update the maintenance work process procedures to insure optimization of the work process
• Develop KPI's for managing, tracking, and reporting metrics relating to maintenance work and the work process.
• Coordinate with outside vendors, when necessary, to resolve equipment issues and arrange for onsite work and support.
• Insures all team roles have backups and are scheduled for continuous plant support.
• Works with plant and maintenance resources to ensure plant specific compliance activities are scheduled and completed to maintain compliance.
• Manage work order backlog and prioritize work to support business needs.
• Prioritize Maintenance / Resident Contractor Work Based on Operational Needs and Resources Availability / Capabilities
• Work with the Maintenance Team Lead and Manager to maintain expenses at or below budget
• Maintain standards for work notification (WN) quality
• Ensure EHS, compliance, and preventive maintenance work orders are a priority
• Coordinate work between Operations and Maintenance to minimize unplanned downtime
• Coordinate Maintenance support of scheduled shutdown & turnaround planning and execution
• Support the execution of the OQ Reliability Dashboard Objectives
• Coach initiators on the quality of work notification, reject reasons, and the value of WN's submitted
• Perform other job duties as assigned.
Key Interactions
Internal: Work closely with Maintenance Work Groups and Operations
External: 3rd party contractors, vendors/suppliers
Notable Working Conditions: Mixture of office and chemical plant as necessary may be exposed to external changing weather conditions.
Education Requirements: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Language Requirements: English
Background and Experience
• 10 years' experience in Maintenance Planning/scheduling or equivalent role experience in a Chemical/Petrochemical manufacturing environment
• Direct work experience in multiple crafts including piping, civil, instruments, mechanical equipment, structural and electrical.
• Maintenance planning in SAP including requisitioning and report generation
Competencies and Skills
• Knowledge of multiple maintenance crafts, including support services
• Knowledge of OSHA Regulations, and all plant safety requirements and procedures
• Working knowledge of personal computer tools including standard Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, and Excel) and experience using an ERP system (such as SAP) • Strong interpersonal skills, teamwork and cooperation
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizing skills, scheduling, coordination and budget management.
