Your Role and Responsibilities
We are seeking User Experience Designer capable of delivering irresistible solutions which address our customers’ most challenging business problems and opportunities. The best candidate will have experience collaborating effectively with a cross functional team in agile and lean delivery methodologies. The candidate must demonstrate leadership, technical curiosity and tenacity to partner with some of the leading technologists in the field of cloud and cognitive computing to design products that are modern and user-friendly.As a user experience designer in IBM's IT Automation, you will:
• Deliver UX Designs within a multi-skilled design team to ensure effective and rich designs (great interaction, supreme visual styling, consistent and appropriate use of voice and tone, etc)
• Work with UX Designers, visual designers, researchers and product managers to understand user’s needs and behaviours for the industries in which they work
• Participate in and lead lean UX activities (in person and remote) in an Agile environment such as user/design research, interviews and workshops
• Analyze and synthesize the findings; distilling the inherent complexity in the user’s experiences and identify the right problems to solve
• Translate findings into usable, useful, effective and efficient user experiences
• Clearly and quickly deliver ideas to cross-functional teams
• Provide information verbally and visually through low and mid-fidelity renderings (starting with paper and pencil/whiteboard) and clickable prototypes
• Test and validate working hypothesis with users through usability testing of wireframes, clickable prototypes and published product, and participate in design critique
• Work with Visual Designers and Developers to bring concepts to life while maintaining UX best practices
• Work on quality assurance to address any issues

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Formal education and experience in visual, interactive, UX or industrial design• Extremely strong foundation in standard visual, interactive design tools
  • Strong, innovative vision supported by a disciplined attention to detail
  • Ability to work within a cross-functional team and handle multiple projects with tight deadlines
  • Experience of software tools for design, production, and implementation, such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Cloud applications
  • Knowledge of HTML and CSS


Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Masters in User Experience Design, Human Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Experimental Psychology, Cognitive Science or related
• Experience in enterprise software design and delivery
• Portfolio of previous work in either UX, design research, or content design that demonstrates an understanding of design best practices.

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
