East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP) is seeking a full-time Family Advocate, LIHEAP/Safety Net. This position is located at 100 Bullocks Pt., Riverside, RI. Responsibilities: The Family Advocate LIHEAP/Safety Net responsibilities include activities related to community outreach, assessment, information, and referral according to the benchmark goals established in identified EBCAP initiatives. Assist in the promotion of the program throughout EBCAP to increase participation. Research, assess, and apply the tenets and requirements of the LIHEAP Program for all identified program clients. This position may include regular travel to other agency sites in Rhode Island and flexible hours, as well as picking up products in the community for food pantries. The Family Advocate will meet with individuals and/or families in the office, and in the community to assess and determine appropriate linkages to EBCAP services, including, but not limited to social service wrap-around and treatment services. Qualifications: GED/high school diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred. Experience in a human services field preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills (bilingual capability (Spanish and/or Portuguese) is strongly encouraged). Basic computer skills. Work independently as well as within a team. Travel among EBCAP locations and community sites.
