Clinical Nurse Educator

POSITION SUMMARY: The Clinical Nurse Educator provides expertise, education, and leadership to improve patient care, staff competence, and organizational compliance. This role involves facilitating project teams and collaborating with departments to enhance systems and processes within the healthcare organization.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current Registered Nurse license in the state. BSN required, with a preference for a Master's Degree in Nursing. BLS certification and specialty area certification preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of five years progressive experience in clinical practice, nursing education, and/or nursing management in an acute care setting.
COMPETENCIES: Strong leadership and communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides educational leadership to enhance specialized patient care in Intensive Care Units and Step Down Units.
- Collaborates with nurse managers and medical providers to develop and implement educational curricula and annual competencies.
- Monitors trends and implements educational strategies to ensure compliance with quality standards and parameters.
- Participates in system evaluation of technology and its impact on patient care and resources.
- Acts as a positive role model for nurses, demonstrating integration of theory and evidence-based practice.
- Acts as a change agent to provide leadership in healthcare policy, direct care programs, and administration.
