Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

The Electroencephalographic (EEG) Technologist prepares patients and performs electroencephalograms, and other tests within their scope of practice. They are able to independently perform the duties and responsibilities for electroencephalography under general technical supervision and recognize clinically significant events.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Licensure/Certification:
  • Current Electroencephalogram (EEG) certification required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Knowledge:
  • Experience performing neurological tests on patients of all ages.
  • EEG and evoked potential procedure techniques.
Skills:
  • Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal and critical thinking skills required.
  • Ability to manage agitated, ill and uncomfortable patients.
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to keep accurate and complete records.
  • Must have the ability to work with minimal supervision; ability to reprioritize workload as needed.
