JOB TITLE: PART-TIME APPLICATION PROGRAMMER DEPARTMENT: INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

SALARY RANGE: $13.40 - $15.00 per hour FLSA: NON-EXEMPT

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Assistant Director of Application Programming

SCHEDULE DETAILS: Part-time (not to exceed 19.5 hours per week)

Position Summary

The Part-time Application programmer is responsible for assisting in the design, maintenance and monitoring of the college's enterprise systems. The position requires basic knowledge of modern programming languages and the ability to develop applications in more than one language. Other major responsibilities include coordination with different areas of Information Technology to integrate external data maintained in the SIS.

Essential Job

  • Participate in application development, enhancement and conversion projects.
  • Provide technical support to the programming staff for best practice use of systems.
  • Work within the work order ticketing system.
  • Create documentation for the programming staff.
  • Research new developments and improvements in system software and recommend enhancements as appropriate.
  • Constantly improving skill set and sharing new knowledge with others on the team.
  • Exhibit exemplary attendance and punctuality.
  • Comply with college policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of modern object-oriented programming language (such as JAVA, .NET or C#).
  • Basic understanding of reporting tools and report development.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to use information technology for professional productivity (such as Microsoft Office Suite).
Preferred Knowledge Skills & Abilities
  • Associate degree in computer information science or a related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.
  • Experience working with modern object-oriented programming language (such as JAVA, .NET or C#)
  • Experience with Colleague.
  • Experience working within a collegiate setting.
