ESP Associates has an immediate need for a Geospatial Ortho Technician to join the corporate office in Fort Mill, SC (South Charlotte). As an Ortho Technician, you will play a key role in creating and processing orthophotos from aerial digital imagery for mapping purposes. This includes tasks in support of product generation such as image mosaicking and editing and color balancing.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with project setup and workflow design to ensure that all specifications are met
  • Support the Ortho Lead in the production of orthophoto products derived from aerial imagery systems including large, medium, and small format cameras
  • Support the Ortho Lead in maintaining and meeting project schedules, ensuring the timely delivery of products
  • Assist with quality control reviews and testing of orthophoto deliverables against client and industry specifications
  • Assist the Geospatial team with other tasks related to aerial imagery and lidar processing as needed (cross-training in lidar and other tasks as needed)
Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree or higher in Geography, Geospatial Technology, GIS, or related field is preferred.
  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience in producing orthophoto products, to include rectification, mosaicking, seamline editing, Photoshop tasks, and quality control
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Adobe Photoshop and ortho production software such as the OrthoPro suite of products
  • Understanding of geographic coordinates, maps, and the characteristics of aerial imagery
  • Must be goal-oriented with the ability to meet assigned deadlines
  • Must be willing to work over-time as required to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work closely with peers and managers to achieve established goals
  • Ability to work in a high-stress environment with time limitations
  • Applicants are expected to be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work well in a team environment.
  • Must be available/willing to cross-train in other disciplines (i.e., lidar)
  • Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company's driving (MVR) policy.
