Role Objectives & Responsibilities

The Maintenance Tech II responsibilities include assisting in the maintenance of the physical condition of the property according to company operating and safety standards.
  • Independently handles a wide range of repairs in single-family residential properties; addresses plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance repair, and a range of other maintenance tasks
  • Performs repairs to a high standard of quality
  • Adheres to all fleet and driving policies
  • Strict adherence to safety protocols and a commitment to creating and maintaining a safe work environment
  • May provide some guidance and support to Maintenance Tech I roles
  • Oversee and coordinate larger Maintenance, Turns, and Renovation projects
  • Communicates with residents, and internal and external customers in a professional and courteous manner both in person and through digital communication
  • May perform inspection work and other work types for Property Management and Legal
  • May interact with external parties on behalf of Sylvan in the market
  • Participates in ongoing training to enhance technical skills and knowledge
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail in all repair, maintenance, and project tasks
  • Manages time effectively to meet deadlines
  • Maintains vehicle inventory of tools and supplies
  • Adheres to all purchasing and authorized buyer policies and procedures
  • Completes work and repairs to quality standards
  • Completes and documents work in technology tools and systems with all work types dispatched
  • Performs work according to the schedule, and within productivity standards
  • Maintains vehicle inventory of tools and supplies
Requirement Knowledge & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Skilled in household maintenance, multi or single-family experience -required
  • Understanding and ability to utilize powered and non-powered tools to complete repairs
  • Must possess own hand tools
  • Lift over 50 lbs. as part of daily function
  • NATE HVAC certification preferred
  • EPA 608 Certification - Universal or Type1 and Type 2 required
  • Must be able to work in environmentally and physically challenging working conditions
  • Valid Driver's License and insurance which must be maintained during employment
  • Must live in and maintain an address in the required zone(s) where hired

    • Sheetrock

    • Superficial foundation/sidewalk repairs
    • Ice/snow removal (if applicable, depending on location)
    • Cleaning
    • Inspections
