The Community Van Driver plays a vital role in ensuring safe transportation for participants in the community and to medical appointments as needed.

This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 4 PM; no nights, weekends, or holidays

Location: Home site Methuen, MA, with the requirement to float to various centers as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely transports participants to and from various locations, including medical and outside appointments.
  • Provides assistance to participants getting in and out of the van during all pickups and drop-offs.
  • Maintains the interior and exterior of the vehicle to uphold safety standards.
  • Immediately reports any incidents, injuries, falls, or accidents to the Director.
  • Collaborates with the Supervisor of Drivers to cater to the specific needs of each participant.
  • Clears snow around the van's vicinity during winter months to ensure safety.
  • Assists Day Care Center Staff with local activities and other related tasks as needed.
  • Must pass a fit test; responsibilities may include wearing a face mask as necessary.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
  • Floats to multiple locations within the organization as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Valid state Driver's License from your state of residence.
  • Minimum of 5 years of safe driving experience.
  • Ability to pass a DOT Physical and DOT-mandated driver training.
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • Capable of physically assisting participants in wheelchairs.
  • Must be a responsible team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to push patients in a wheelchair effectively.
