Job Summary

This Van Driver position is an excellent opportunity for a responsible and flexible team player with good communication and interpersonal skills to join our organization. As a Van Driver, you will be responsible for transporting participants around the community and to medical appointments as needed.

The ideal candidate will have a valid state driver's license, a minimum of 5 years of safe driving experience, and the ability to pass a DOT Physical and DOT mandated driver training. You will also need to be CPR and First Aid certified, able to physically move and maneuver participants in a wheelchair, and possess good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities
  • Transport participants around the community, to and from medical appointments and other outside appointments, as necessary.
  • Assist participants to and from the van for all pickups and drop offs.
  • Maintain vehicles' interior and exterior on a consistent basis to ensure safe transportation.
  • Notify the Director immediately of any incidents out of the ordinary, client injuries, client falls, or accidents.
  • Work with Supervisor of Drivers to identify specific needs of each participant.
  • Remove snow around surrounding area of vans during the winter months to ensure client safety and the safe operation of the van.
  • Assist Day Care Center Staff with local activities and other duties, as needed.
Requirements
  • Valid state driver's license from the state of residence.
  • Minimum 5 years of safe driving experience.
  • Ability to pass a DOT Physical and DOT mandated driver training.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Able to physically move and maneuver participants in a wheelchair.
  • Responsible, flexible team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.

Estimated Salary

$55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience.
