We are looking for a Product Quality and Automation, Director to join our teamlocated in Santa Clara, CA, or Tacoma WA, or Austin, TX remote, reporting to the VP of Software Engineering. In this role, you will define and implement a strategy for product quality and automation across our Engineering organization. You will also lead our QA team, ensuring the highest standards of quality and reliability for our SaaS products. This role involves developing and implementing comprehensive testing strategies, driving automation initiatives, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional software solutions.

What you'll do:

  • Lead and mentor QA managers, engineers, and automation specialists
  • Foster a culture of quality, continuous improvement, and accountability
  • Develop and manage budgets, resources, and timelines
  • Define and implement QA processes, standards, and best practices
  • Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts
  • Ensure thorough testing of all software releases, including functional, regression, performance, and security testing
  • Drive the adoption of test automation frameworks and tools
  • Identify opportunities for automation and streamline testing processes
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of automated test suites
  • Work closely with Product Management, Development, and Operations teams to understand requirements and ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Communicate QA metrics, progress, and issues to stakeholders
  • Advocate for quality and provide insights to improve product performance and user experience
  • Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in QA and automation
  • Implement innovative solutions to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness
  • Conduct regular reviews and audits of QA processes and outcomes

What you'll bring:

  • 20+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with at least 8 years of experience in a leadership role
  • Proven experience with SaaS products and network services such as DNS, DHCP, and IPAM
  • Solid knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes
  • Expertise in test automation frameworks and tools, like Selenium, JUnit, and TestNG
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services, such as EC2, VPC, ELB, S3, CloudFormation, etc and Kubernetes. is a plus
  • Knowledge of DNS protocol and general networking concepts, and knowledge of Unix/Linux environments
  • Experience working on an agile development process
  • Full software development life-cycle experience with a proven track record of shipping software
  • Results-oriented with a solid work ethic and excellent attention to detail and quality
  • Experience with DNS, DHCP is a plus
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineeringrequired, master's degree preferred
