Industrial Automation Specialist

SalaryThe estimated annual salary for this position is $80,000-$110,000, depending on location and experience.
ResponsibilitiesAs an Industrial Automation Specialist at AST, you will support the improvement of our Engineering department. Key responsibilities include:
- Designing control systems for complex automation projects, including robotics and vision systems.
- Drafting operations and maintenance manuals in accordance with equipment designs.
- Developing solutions and reviewing technical decisions with high impact on internal and external stakeholders.
- Contributing to and leading assignments with broad product, technology investment, customer, and strategic impact.
- Participating in the installation, startup, testing, and supervision of machinery at customer facilities.
- Maintaining technical records, test results, and documentation to support design and performance history.
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with industrial programming languages, HMI designs, industrial communications, smart machines, AI/machine learning, machine automation hardware/software, and advanced sensory systems.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%, determined by company need.
- Knowledge of machine control system design and testing environments with a strong electrical acumen.
- Skill with computer software, including Allen-Bradley PLC Platform, AutoCAD, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
