Job Title: Layout Engineer

Job DescriptionResponsibilities

  • Manage all A/E firm design work and scheduling for tooling support steel and concrete pit engineering.

  • Develop the Facility Section SOW, including overall PF100 and PF200, reference documents, and SharePoint setup for contractor bid document storage.

  • Coordinate the Installation Bid Package by obtaining all SOWs from functional leads to compile into an overall bid package.

  • Coordinate Detailed Equipment Descriptions, ensuring Advanced Feasibility groups write SOWs for their respective tools and equipment.

  • Work with Purchasing to determine the contractor bid list.

  • Organize contractor bid meetings.

  • Receive and analyze installation bids, compare them to cost studies, and make recommendations to Program Implementation on contractor selection.

  • Collaborate with individual Advanced Feasibility groups for cost analysis, ensuring each group analyzes their own costs.

  • Generate and track Purchase Orders to release dates per the Master Schedule.

Essential Skills

  • Basic working knowledge of AutoCAD software for plant layout.

  • Advanced working knowledge of MS Office software applications, including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.

  • Basic working knowledge of MS Project planning software for executing manufacturing equipment and building system projects.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including effective listening and feedback.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment with minimal supervision.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with large-scale industrial facilities.

  • Automotive manufacturing experience.

  • Skills in equipment layout, bid evaluation, and cost estimation.

Work Environment

Extended travel to US, Canada, and/or Mexico assembly plants required. The role offers a hybrid work environment with a mix of remote and onsite work.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.52 - $46.80
