Job Title: Mechanical Engineer - PE

Planate Management Group is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) providing program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will perform engineering duties in planning and designing for the Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) facilities at Haskell Indian Nations University and Southwest Indian Polytechnic Institute. Key responsibilities include designing and implementing cost-effective equipment modifications, performing design work for new construction, renovations, and improvement projects, and developing cost estimates and time schedules.

Responsibilities:
  • Designing and implementing cost-effective equipment modifications to improve safety, reliability, and throughput
  • Performing design work for new construction, renovations, and improvement projects for real property facilities
  • Interpreting and adapting traditional methods and approaches in developing design calculations, layouts, drawings, and specifications
  • Responsible for selected construction inspections, quality control, and submittal reviews
  • Developing cost estimates and time schedules, reviewing and analyzing preliminary and final designs, plans, and specifications
  • Preparing necessary correspondence, technical reports, contract documents, fact sheets, and status reports
  • Preparing final construction drawings suitable for obtaining qualified bids from contractors
  • Preparing Architect and Engineer (A&E) Statements of Work (SOW), serving as a technical representative for negotiation and/or administration of contracts
  • Monitoring and/or managing projects for new construction, renovations, and improvements to real property facilities
Qualifications:
  • Mechanical Engineering degree required
  • Professional Engineer license required
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of design experience
  • Proficient in AutoCAD 2012 or later
  • Experience in the use of documents relating to project development, contracting, and construction
  • Working knowledge of Design Review, Project Mobilization, Quality Compliance, QA, Safety, Project Controls, and Capture Management
  • Excellent communications, leadership, and interpersonal skills
