Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00 - 3:30 PM (no holidays or weekends)

The Purchasing Agent conducts the procurement process from beginning to end for our internal ThedaCare customers. Obtains quotes, negotiates, purchases, and makes arrangements for delivery of goods, services, and minor and capital equipment. Optimizes cost-effective solutions for sourcing products that are high quality, effective, and safe, while maintaining a high-level of commitment to our group purchasing contracts.

Job Description:

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1. Ensures buying and utilization levels meet the quality and quantity standards of ThedaCare. 2. Recognizes team and provider needs in regards to products and services. Communicates at a high level the information to promote fiscal stewardship through product standardization, contract compliance, and efficiencies. 3. Ensures and practices sound fiscal responsibility, contract compliance, proper billing, and financial accuracy. 4. Processes requisitions to purchase orders accurately to the appropriate supplier with the correct pricing and quantities. Resolves issue/concerns to ensure orders are delivered in a timely manner. 5. Works with suppliers to maintain high fill rates. Proactively manages any backorders and obtains recommendations for substitute items if necessary. 6. Works with suppliers on returns, credits, defective products, and exchanges. 7. Works on order confirmations and invoice discrepancies as appropriate with accounts payable. 8. Establishes good rapport with department requesters and department leaders as assigned. 9. Assists departments with coding for budget accuracy and appropriate reimbursement.

QUALIFICATIONS: • High School diploma or GED preferred • Must be 18 years of age • Three years of purchasing experience with previous vendor management experience, knowledge of supply chain, and basic accounting principles PHYSICAL

DEMANDS: • Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of fifty (50) pounds without assistance • Job classification is not exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job duties

WORK ENVIRONMENT: • Normally works in climate controlled office environment • Frequent sitting with movement throughout office space • Use of computers throughout the work day • Frequent use of keyboard with repetitive motion of hands, wrists, and fingers
