Sub Acute Licensed Vocational Nurse

The Sub Acute Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) performs a variety of patient care activities under the direction of registered nursing personnel. Responsibilities include participating in patient care planning, assisting in examinations and treatments, administering medications within the scope of practice, and recording vital signs. Additionally, the role involves providing assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADL), maintaining a clean and safe environment, and demonstrating empathy and compassion towards patients. This position requires an active California LVN license, graduation from an accredited vocational nursing school, and certification in Basic Life Support and IV. Bilingual skills and previous related experience are preferred. Sign-on bonus eligibility is available for experienced candidates.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active, current, and unencumbered Licensure as a Vocational Nurse in the State of California
  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Vocational Nursing or its equivalent
  • AHA Basic Life Support
  • IV Certification
  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to maintain flexibility and composure in a constantly changing environment
  • Hospital Fire and Life Safety Card (Los Angeles City Employees only)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families
  • AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support
  • One year of previous experience in a related setting
  • AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (Foothill Only)

Sign-on Bonus Eligibility: To be eligible for the Sign-on Bonus, you must have one or more years of experience. Some restrictions and exceptions may apply. Current Hospital employees are not eligible and former Hospital employees may not be eligible. The Sign-on Bonus Program is only available for full-time regular positions. Bonus payments are made in increments over the course of 12 months to active employees in good standing.
