Position Overview:
The Coordinator for Learning Design & Curriculum provides district coordination for formal curricular reviews and processes in partnership with Director of Learning Design & Student Engagement and the Director of Special Education & Student Services. This position requires a strong background in secondary education (7-12) and significant experience leading the implementation of innovative and personalized learning.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Actively collaborates with district and teacher leaders to ensure backward design of learning embeds design qualities for student engagement and purposeful use of learning technology
  • Provides guidance and informal coaching to curriculum leads across the system
  • Actively collaborates with the Learning & Innovation team to ensure coherence and alignment in our approach to innovative and personalized learning, and has direct responsibility for district-level projects as assigned
  • Stays current on curricular updates from the Minnesota Department of Education and monitors implementation as needed
  • Assists with the design and implementation of professional learning at the district level
  • Demonstrates commitment to using the principles, essential elements, and tools of cultural proficiency in learning design
  • Provides consultation on implementation of our core components of innovative and personalized learning, including our competency-based learning framework
  • Uses our 3D design methodology for formal and just-in-time curricular reviews, modeling design thinking for teachers and staff
  • Continuously improves our vertical and horizontal articulation to avoid gaps and redundancies in our curricular mapping of competencies and learning progressions
