Quality Control Inspector

If you enjoy working with a great group of professionals, are detail oriented, and enjoy using your construction and organizational skills, then we have a role for you Potelco, Inc seeks a great Quality Control Inspector to join our team, working both in the office in Sumner, WA and in the field. This role is perfect for a Journeyman Lineman looking to transition into a new role.

Quality Control Inspectors are responsible for on-site Quality Control. Inspections will be performed to verify compliance with all aspects of the Quality Control Program and to determine its effectiveness. Inspected field work is to be completed to standards provided and documented to be correct. Verify installations are consistent with good construction practices. Success in this position will be demonstrated by continuous development of ones understanding of the work, increased responsibilities within the team, and continuous improvement of the organization's performance as it relates to quality.

What You'll Do

Responsibilities:

• Operations - Demonstrate an understanding of design, construction, operation and maintenance methods applicable to the organization and provide active leadership in all aspects of the services provided to ensure that quality objectives are met or exceeded. Provide on-call and in-person support for field personnel with regards to QC knowledge and compliance.

• Safety Culture - Demonstrate and assure a frontline understanding of corporate, state and local safety regulations as they apply to work performed in the utility line construction industry. Have the ability to recognize areas of non-compliance and ability to take corrective action.

• Industry Standards and Best Practices - Using experience and background ensure that all phases of work performed meet or exceed all requirements.

• Leadership - Demonstrate leadership and a passion for promoting safety and quality of work. Must be willing to stop work during an inspection, if necessary and take action to correct an unsafe or non-compliant situation.

• On-site Inspections - Accountable to ensure non-compliant issues are addressed and corrected and that training and coaching is provided when needed to prevent recurrences.

• Training and Delivery of QC Materials- Deliver in-person training to field personnel and base leadership for all new and updated Standards, Quality Control Bulletins, and other relevant QC information.

• Documentation and Reporting - Complete documentation of inspections in a timely and professional manner.

• Other Duties - As assigned.

What You'll Bring

Qualifications:

• Education/Experience - Craft certification (Journeyman, Operator Qualification, etc.) or four plus year's related experience and/or training in lieu of education or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Communication - Ability to prepare business correspondence and communicate effectively verbally and written. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from field personnel, managers, clients, customers, and local agencies.

• Knowledge of Utility Infrastructure Construction - Ability to read and interpret utility mapping systems and construction drawings. Poses the ability to interpret and apply utility standards to work performed.

• Problem Solving - Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions/standards furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to resolve conflict of all types.

• Computer/Technical Skills - Ability to utilize word processing, spreadsheets, email and other specialized software applications.

• Valid Driver's License and safe driving record is required.

• Other Competencies/Characteristics - The ability to be flexible, highly organized with a strong orientation to detail/quality work, strong interpersonal and speaking skills are required.

Compensation Range

The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $53.00/Hr. - USD $73.00/Hr. depending on experience and qualifications.
