Job Description:The Speech Pathologist is responsible for screening, testing, evaluating, diagnosing and treating disorders of speech, language, cognitive communication, voice, and swallowing. In addition, this position is also responsible for consulting, educating and training patients and their caregivers. Scope As an SLP you need to know how to: Carry out speech therapy evaluations, program planning and treatments for hospital inpatients and outpatients. Work closely with the Physical Medicine Director in coordinating speech therapy activities with other hospital disciplines and in developing a program for department expansion, community and physician marketing, budget needs, and department administration. Work independently with limited contact with other Speech Language Pathologists.
