What will I be doing?

The Analytics Product Team serves as internal consultants to key functions across the business, including Hilton's customer, marketing, digital revenue and sales organizations, with specialized support for the executive leadership team. The team consists of both embedded subject matter experts, who serve as strategic advisors to key stakeholders, and more technical experts, who are proficient in Tableau, R, SAS and MicroStrategy. The team is fully integrated within the business functions to ensure close partnerships and more effectively measure and drive company performance.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Analytics Products you will be responsible for ensuring successful end-to-end development of analytics data product dashboards, data and ad hoc capabilities for the analytics and business teams through partnership with Enterprise Architecture and Data and Analytics. You will play a crucial role in translating business requirements and analytics requests to ensure delivery with a solid understanding of both big data functionality and analytical tool features.

This role will be heavily engaged with data product management which requires managing the iterative nature of building analytical tools and data set development and managing their lifecycle which is related to, but different, than a normal application or software development lifecycle. It also requires flexibility to perform project management responsibilities to leverage resources and fill key gaps on the team, managing consumer expectations regarding the delivery and progress of the projects while ensuring timely delivery with an emphasis and interest in continued learning opportunities as Hilton's analytics capabilities evolve.

More specifically, you will:

Partner with development, business intelligence, analytics, business, data, and external partners to articulate the product vision and communicate timelines, opportunities, and obstacles

Lead the strategy for Hilton's Hotel Reservation & Customer Care products, develop roadmap, and prioritize projects

Partner with business areas to understand business problems and identify tools and datasets necessary for delivery

Lead requirements gathering process with business teams in partnership with customer analytics, development, and data teams in support of project deliverables

Identify key use cases/personas, success measures, working team, key stakeholders

Lead prioritization and trade-offs among user experience, timeline, and operational support load

Manage development life cycle with Enterprise Architecture and Data, Development, and Business Intelligence teams for new data features or analytical capabilities

Lead project management activities for prioritized initiatives

Apply technical understanding and deep domain understanding of big data environment and toolsets to improve analytics capabilities

Manage quality assurance testing including UAT/Alpha/Beta

Provide inputs to value measurement processes to ensure business results are achieved including enhancements and maintenance

Drive delivery of products and data capabilities as well as a cross functional team of business and technology resources

Manage scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand ups, sprint review, retrospective) for cross functional teams

Support business case to seek project resources and funding approval

Prepare change management documenatation and communication for product releases

To fulfill this role successfully, you should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:

Minimum Education: High School Degree/GED

Eight (8) years of professional experience

Four (4) years of experience creating and analyzing management reports

Two (2) years of product management experience including requirements gathering and roadmapping

Two (2) years in report and dashboard design and development

Two (2) years working with data representation, storytelling, analyses, and modeling

Familiarity with BI tools (including Tableau, MicroStrategy, SAS, Qlik, etc.)

Ability to travel 20%

It would be helpful in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

Ten (10) years of professional experience

Five (5) years experience working with customer and loyalty data sets

BA/BS Bachelor's Degree

MBA/Masters in analytically-oriented field

Ability to engage audiences

Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and statistical skills
