JOB TITLE: Designer III

JOB SUMMARY: The Designer III as a subject matter expert actively participates in the project design and production by performing architectural assignments. Develops and represents lead technical viewpoint on projects. Under the direction of a Registered Architect, the Designer III is responsible for the production of complete, accurate, and well-coordinated documents.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Communicate with team, clients and consultant/contractor representatives effectively
  • Proficiency with required computer software (Revit, Autocad, Photoshop)
  • Assist Project Manager and collaborate with Project Architect in coordinating necessary tasks for a variety of projects
  • Ensure accuracy and completion of all project related assignments
  • Prepare and produce design and construction documents, including enlarged millwork details
  • Translate design concepts into floor and furniture plans, building assemblies and material/product specifications
  • Strong understanding of building systems, codes, and construction methods
  • Promote a collaborative team environment
  • Complete research as needed
  • Participate as appropriate in contract administration
  • Travel to Project Job Site or Design Office as required to facilitate design and construction under the direction of the Project Architect
  • Contribute as required to the overall quality and success of the project, studio and firm
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Graduate of an accredited architectural program with Bachelor's or Master's level degree
  • 8+ years' experience in design and documentation of projects
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high quality design and architectural drawings
  • Demonstrated ability to make design and documentation decisions requiring discretion and good judgement
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Currently seeking license to become Registered Architect (preferred)
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
