As an Equipment Logistics Technician I, you will be responsible for any equipment that comes in and out of patient areas. This can include infusion pumps, syringe pumps, specialty beds, bedside commodes, feeding trays, and other specified medical devices. You will recover the equipment for processing and redistribution, as well as clean, evaluate and inspect it.

The ideal future caregiver is someone who:

  • Possesses a high level of energy for a labor position that has a variety of assignments.

  • Demonstrates the ability to move consistently with urgency, recognize what needs to be accomplished and execute a plan with little or no supervision.

  • Has basic computer skills.

  • Has strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills both in person and over the phone.

  • Thrives working both independently and as part of a team.

This unique branch of clinical engineering supports both clinical personnel and operations and is known and revered throughout Main Campus and the enterprise. Responsibilities:

  • Cleans, delivers, evaluates and inspects specified medical devices.

  • Documents work activity in an electronic database.

  • Delivers and recovers specialty carts and procedural trays.

  • May be required to orders supplies and ensure adherence to unit/department budget

  • May be required to stock patient rooms or deploy supplies for use within unit/department ​

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Certifications:

  • None required

Complexity of Work:

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Work Experience:

  • Hospital experience or logistics experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.

  • Ability to be mobile for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to travel throughout the Cleveland Clinic health system.

  • Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment.

  • Ability to operate emergency equipment.

  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information

  • Ability to move/transport items weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)

  • Ability to move/transport carts weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)

  • Ability to move/transport equipment weighing up to 50 pounds (lbs.)

  • Ability to inspect equipment

  • Ability to install, repair and maintain systems, equipment, fixtures and/or structures

  • Ability to clean, operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning products

  • Ability to distinguish color.
