Job Summary:

The Pump Truck Driver/Operator operates the pump truck on pre-determined routes, controlling the trucks pump or similar equipment to collect waste from portable sanitation units and deposit their contents into the truck.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operates pump truck on pre-determined route; safely controls the pump as required to collect receptacles and deposit their contents in the truck.
• Performs and documents pre-operation safety check on vehicle prior to embarking on route.
• Refuels truck and performs basic maintenance.
• Facilitates proper maintenance and mechanical service on truck by appropriate mechanics.

• Transports waste to proper location for processing and/or disposal.
• Notifies dispatchers and/or supervisors of delays, unsafe sites, accidents, breakdowns, or other issues and documenting the same.
• Maintains logs of pickup times, daily mileage, and dump logs.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid Drivers' License or similar classification to operate a pump truck required.

• Ability to work and drive in a variety of weather conditions.
