Sanitation Driver

Job Title: Pump Truck Driver/Operator Location: Punta Gorda, Florida Job classification: Full-time & Part-time; non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act. Job Summary: The Pump Truck Driver/Operator operates the pump truck on pre-determined routes, controlling the trucks pump or similar equipment to collect waste from portable sanitation units and deposit their contents into the truck. Duties and Responsibilities: Operates pump truck on pre-determined route; safely controls the pump as required to collect receptacles and deposit their contents in the truck. Performs and documents pre-operation safety check on vehicle prior to embarking on route. Refuels truck and performs basic maintenance. Facilitates proper maintenance and mechanical service on truck by appropriate mechanics. Transports waste to proper location for processing and/or disposal. Notifies dispatchers and/or supervisors of delays, unsafe sites, accidents, breakdowns, or other issues and documenting the same. Maintains logs of pickup times, daily mileage, and dump logs. Performs other related duties as assigned.Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Valid Drivers' License or similar classification to operate a pump truck required.Physical Requirements: Ability to work and drive in a variety of weather conditions.
