The Role: Xylem seeks to hire an Electrical & Controls Engineering Manager (ECEM) responsible for managing personnel, deliverables and execution of department goals; identifies, supports and leads strategic organizational priorities. The ECEM manages and directs the daily work of the E&C Engineering and Electrical Design team to ensure on-time quality of customer requirements and achievement of business goals and develops strategic direction for the team by collaborating with Sr. leaders.

Key responsibilities for the ECEM is to ensure that the team supports the project execution process by assisting with the development of technical strategy, demonstrating complete ownership of all controls related project tasks, including but not limited to electrical & software design and implementation, submittal development for approvals, PLC/HMI Programming, factory acceptance testing, and startup & commissioning field service support.

Core Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Technical team leader for electrical projects which includes Customer Submittals, Functional Descriptions, electrical control panel designs, PLC/HMI code and startup & commissioning field service support.
  • Experience and knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC & HMI development, programming or other brands of PLC/HMI platforms such as Siemens, Modicon/Schneider Electric
  • Maintain effective relationships with customers, suppliers, partners and interdepartmental personnel for Capital and Aftermarket projects
  • Maintain a high degree of understanding of water treatment processes
  • Experience and knowledge of UL/cUL, NEC, and IEC Compliance
  • Maintain performance management responsibilities for E&C employees: direct staffing and organizational structure, coaching/mentoring, employee relations and promotional decisions
  • Knowledge of business acumen and budget responsibilities
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Direct and escalate customer support for sales service and aftermarket
  • Adheres to Xylem Inc. Standard Operating Procedures
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of water treatment & control processes
  • Travel to project sites, supplier's factories, and technical conferences as necessary
  • Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (Masters degree preferred) in addition to 8 plus years of experience in project execution, milestone schedules, and leading teams
  • Background in Strategic Leadership, Change Management, developing teams deploying Daily Management, Standard Work operating in a complex environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism and business urgency
  • Navigating complex engineering plans and specifications
  • Working knowledge of electrical wiring, schematics, control panel, and Network layouts
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in electrical design software, ERP systems, Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong background in advanced process control solutions including programming various types of logic controllers such as Allen Bradley, Siemens, Modicon/Schneider Electric, GE, etc.
