Home Base seeks a dynamic and experienced Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) who will be dedicated to providing clinical services within the Family Team, including intake assessments for family members and Veterans, couples assessment, couples therapy, individual and group therapy and psychoeducational groups. Home Base seeks a dynamic and experienced Licensed Clinical Social Worker/Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with expertise in couples therapy to work in the Family Team. This role will be embedded within the Family Team at Home Base and will be responsible for providing psychological services to adult military connected family members seeking mental health support, as it relates to their loved ones military service. These psychological services include primarily couples therapy, individual and group therapy, and intake evaluations. This role is clinical in nature but will also include a portion of administrative responsibilities in terms of managing procedures and workflow of the couples referral service. Exceptional organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively and complete tasks is a priority for this role.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Working under the supervision of the Director of Family Programs, the Home Base Family Programs LICSW will:

  • Provide evidence-based couples assessment and therapy to patients in the OPC. Couples therapy approaches may include Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, Integrative Behavioral Couples Therapy, Behavioral Couples Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Couples Therapy, and Cognitive-Behavioral Conjoint Therapy for PTSD
  • Provide individual evidence-based therapy to patients in the Outpatient Clinic.
  • Provide group psychotherapy and educational groups focused of family/relationship challenges.
  • Lead educational groups in the Intensive Clinical Program.
  • Consult with team to facilitate mandated assessments when abuse is suspected (child, disabled adult, elder) and safety assessment when violence is reported. Collaborates with MGH resources (HAVEN and Child Protection Team).
  • Participate in relevant clinical meetings, training and other relevant clinical responsibilities as assigned.
  • Responsible for crisis intervention and management; provide daytime on call coverage for Outpatient Clinic within regular business hours, as needed.
  • Document timely and relevant information in patient electronic medical record and case management database. Maintain expected productivity expectations.
  • This role is a predominantly clinical role but will also include administrative responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Family programs, to include:
    • Clinical management of the clinic's couples referrals workflow.
    • Assists Director in updating policy or procedural changes to Family Services and Programming.
    • Assists Director with program development projects across the Family Team Service Line, as needed.
    • Liaises with the Family Support Team Manager and Admin Team regarding patient care coordination.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • Master's Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program required.

LICENSE:

  • LICSW required, licensed, or licensed eligible in Massachusetts.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 3-5 years clinical experience required.
  • Specialty training in evidence-based couples therapy (e.g., IBCT, EFT) is required. Ideal candidates will also have experience administering evidence-based treatments for individual and group treatment (e.g., CBT, DBT, ACT).
  • Experience with EPIC a plus.
  • Experience with Veteran and military family population and knowledge of military culture a plus.

SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

  • Ability to work independently, and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary organization. Must possess strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Skilled in presenting before leadership, providers, and support staff on departmental priorities and concerns.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively and complete tasks on time.
  • Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Exceptional computer skills (including operating systems, word processing, database, electronic mail, Internet.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters discreetly and to ensure confidentiality guidelines are maintained by staff.
  • Knowledge in aspects of safety applicable to position; Knowledge of and compliance with institutional, Joint Commission, HIPAA, and other regulatory bodies' standards.
  • Crisis intervention and patient emergency management skills related to mental health issues required.
