Walton Family Whole Health & Fitness, managed by HealthFitness, is looking for a full-time, Lead Recreation Specialist to join the team in Bentonville, Arkansas. This is a perfect position for someone looking for a leadership role in the recreation field

Schedule: 40 hours per week, Tuesday-Saturday, Tuesday-Friday hours are 1pm-10pm, Saturday: 10am-7pm

This individual will work closely with the Recreation Director and assist in the the development, planning, coordination, marketing and/or implementation of recreation programs and events, and maximizing participation and engagement.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Assist in developing Recreation Programs that will identify, create, and leverage existing recreation opportunities in area.

  • Assists in directing all recreational leagues in accordance with HealthFitness operational, quality, safety and service standards.

  • Assist members/guests at the recreation desk with enrollment, purchases, reservations, and/or equipment checkout using our software management system.

  • Assists in coordinating marketing of programs to maximize outreach and engagement; develops and distributes electronic and print promotional materials to communicate program offerings and special events.

  • Makes recommendations along with Recreation Director for future program enhancements or modifications.

  • Maintain highest level communication through client interactions, appearance and marketing material.

  • Coordinate meeting times and locations.

  • Assist members to host and support onsite/offsite events and activities (e.g., tournaments, leagues and any other events).

  • Plan, organize, and administer a limited year-round schedule of recreation and leisure programs for all employees.

  • Other duties as needed/assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science, Recreation, Sports Management or related discipline.

  • 1+ years related industry experience.

  • Current Adult/Child First Aid and CPR/AED or BLS certification through either American Heart Association or American Red Cross required by start date.

  • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work demands.

  • Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills including the ability to motivate others.

Preferred:

  • Sports officiating certification/experience

  • Five (5) years managing various recreation programs

  • Experience running multisport tournaments, leagues, events

  • Experience stringing/restringing racquets and ability to install grommet sets and regrip racquets

  • Prior experience with instructing/organizing sport-specific events (volleyball, basketball, wallyball, badminton, lacrosse, soccer, floor hockey, etc)

  • 1-3yrs of Sport & Rec Management experience.

Compensation: $18.00-$19.00 per hour. Pay is dependent on experience and qualifications.
