A recognized services organization in California is looking to add a new Data Center Technician to their growing team in the Bay Area.

Responsibilities:

The Data Center Technician will:

  • Troubleshoot and solve infrastructure issues
  • Escalate issues to the appropriate resolver groups, when necessary
  • Create and maintain documentation on technologies and convey SOPs to junior staff
  • Build an understanding of all aspects of the equipment
  • Execute small projects, as needed
  • Perform other duties as they arise
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's and/or Technical Degree or equivalent of 2+ years of experience
  • Experience with IT Hardware concepts: RAID, SAN, x86 Architecture, SCSL
  • Experience with Linux/Unix Administration, including Boot Process GRUB/LILO; File Systems Network device and protocol configuration; Directory Structure; Performance Management/Troubleshooting; etc.
  • Experience with Networking Protocols (OSI Model).
  • Experience with Copper/Fiber Optic Testing/Cabling Standards Physical Requirements for the Data Center Operations
Desired Skills:
  • Hands-on experience with one or more of the hardware platforms (e.g. Dell, HP)
  • Networking experience with CCNA and/or Network+ certifications
  • Previous experience working in a Data Center environment (racking & stacking gear, cable management, hot & cold aisle containment)
