Job Summary and Responsibilities

Working under minimal supervision, the Lead Respiratory Therapist will assist the Shift Supervisor in managing supervisory duties for the respiratory therapy department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Allocate shift assignments to staff members.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for team members.
  • Oversee and support the work of respiratory therapists.
  • Orient new respiratory therapy staff to the department.
  • Provide direct patient care as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current Respiratory Therapist license and NBRC RRT credential.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required within 30 days of hire.
  • ACLS and NRP certifications within 6 months of hire.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in Respiratory Care.
  • Preferred: One year of recent supervisory experience.
