Bilingual Neuroscience Nurse

Sign-On Bonus and Relocation Reimbursement Available

  • Salary: Up to $8.00/hour additional to base pay depending on Nursing Education and National Certifications.
  • Shift Differentials: 17% weekday nights, 26% weekend nights, 15% weekend day shift.
  • Department: Neuroscience (5-S)
  • FTE: Full-time (0.90)
  • Position Summary: Provide clinical leadership and direct nursing care to assigned patients across different age groups.
  • Responsibilities include:
  1. Delivering safe direct care to an assigned group of patients as required.
  2. Collaborating with healthcare team to implement individualized care plans incorporating age-specific considerations, including discharge planning and patient/family teaching.
  3. Assisting with special tests and procedures, ensuring proper consent has been obtained.
  4. Assuming precepting and evaluation responsibilities for new personnel upon successful completion of preceptor training.
  5. Administering medication, including IV medication, and documenting and communicating clinical findings.
  6. Following patient safety policies, procedures, and protocols.
  7. Enhancing professional growth and development through participation in educational programs and workshops.
  8. Encouraging patients to actively participate in their own care by asking questions and reporting treatment or situations that they don't understand or may "not seem right".

Qualifications:

  • Education: Nationally Accredited Nursing Graduate, program graduate (Bachelor's Degree preferred).
  • Experience: No minimum experience required. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Credentials: RN in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM. CPR for Healthcare/BLS certification, nationally certified in area of specialty preferred.
  • Physical Requirements: Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work. May require use of PPE in presence of Bio hazardous Materials and Chemicals.
  • Working Conditions: Frequent exposure to Bio hazardous materials, sharps, and infected patients. Hazards may include physical assault, infectious diseases, and exposure to radiation.
