The Engineering Technician will work with other cleanroom staff to support the daily operation and maintenance of the laboratory. The candidate will be responsible for supporting and troubleshooting instrument issues related to chemical vapor deposition ( CVD ), plasma day etch equipment and other semiconductor equipment as needed. The candidate will also be assisting in interactions with students, faculty and research scientists to identify Cleanroom capability requirements to support ongoing and future research projects. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and one year related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Education and Experience: Preferred Education A.A.S. degree in engineering, trade, or other technical discipline and or related experience. A minimum of four (4) years of experience in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of semiconductor equipment. Preferred Experience Practical knowledge and application of electronics, mechanics, vacuum theory, math, and computers. Knowledge of basic computer skills and software programs. Knowledge of troubleshooting techniques and ability to learn the operational concepts of systems and how to perform diagnostic and troubleshooting techniques to solve more complex operational and system problems. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, pneumatic diagrams, flow charts, and cause and effect diagrams. Must be detail-oriented, have effective communication skills, self-motivated, self-starter, and must be detail-oriented, a problem solver as well as a decision maker. Proficient with Microsoft Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
