Opportunity Overview:
  • We are currently seeking two dedicated Physician Assistants to join our hospitalist team on a locum tenens basis near BROOKSVILLE, FL. This position offers an immediate start date with night-shift coverage.
Shift Details:
  • As a Hospitalist Physician Assistant, you will exclusively work nights, starting from 7 pm to 5 am. The schedule follows a 7 on/7 off pattern, providing a consistent work-life balance.
Responsibilities:
  • In this role, you will work closely with a team of hospitalists to manage ICU patients, providing comprehensive care throughout the night. Procedures are not part of the responsibilities, and hospitalists do not run codes.
Facility Environment:
  • Our facility is a 215-bed hospital with a supportive environment and a team of two day physician rounders. The hospitalist team operates on a structured 7 on/7 off schedule, ensuring continuity of care for patients.
Patient Load:
  • The daily census varies, ranging from as low as 12 patients in the summer to 25 patients in the winter months. This dynamic patient population offers a diverse and challenging clinical experience.
Requirements:
  • Applicants must hold an active Florida license to practice as a Physician Assistant. Previous experience in hospitalist medicine is preferred but not mandatory.
