Job Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Reporting to the Corporate Controller, this position is responsible for establishing, maintaining, and analyzing general ledger/financial systems master data, interfaces, and accounting instructions.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION:

• Reviews, approves, and processes financial master data requests to ensure data compliance and consistency.

• Identify, analyze, and correct data integrity issues within financial applications.

• Ensures the overall data integrity of DFV financial systems processes and interfaces including development and updates of mapping rules between systems.

• Configures financial set up of new financial master data items, including account setups, automatic accounting instructions (AAI), and other critical reporting and processing attributes.

• Coordinates and performs the correction of Master file integrity problems with other departments.

• Create and run ad-hoc reports/queries to troubleshoot, identify and correct data integrity issues.

• Maintain Finance system tables and enforce data integrity and compliance with the divisional and corporate chart of accounts and accounting structure.

• Collaborates with IT to provide testing, training and implementation of systems updates and enhancements.

• Run on-demand interfaces and 90 company clearing of balances at month-end.

• Create and process monthly recurring journal entries and balance sheet allocations.

• Process, validate, and post daily systems interface.

• Provide support for salaried and hourly payroll interfaces from ADP GL to JDE.

• Analyze general ledger journal entries and verify the accuracy of recorded accounting transactions.

• Prepare various ad-hoc accounting reports as requested by management.

• Document general ledger account descriptions, policies and procedures and reporting requirements.

• Other internal projects and duties as assigned.

Required Skills

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:

• Experience in financial systems related work with emphasis on data management, preferred but not required.

• Prefer working knowledge in ERP financial systems, integrations, and master data management.

• Strong analytical skills with emphasis on data management.

• Understand documentation and execution of internal controls associated with master data and system processes.

• Understanding of database tables, structures, and relationships.

• General accounting knowledge.

• Strong skills in Excel and Word.

• Familiarity with JD Edwards software strongly preferred.

• Ability to function successfully with minimal supervision.

• Ability to communicate and collaborate across departments and with all levels of employees through strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Motivated, goal oriented, and challenge driven.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • The position requires the employee to sit regularly and occasionally lift (including overhead) up to 15 lbs.
WORK HOUR & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to work beyond normal business hours, weekends and company holidays as needed.
Will require extended hours work coverage as needed and given business environment and conditions.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
PAY RATE:
  • $28.00 to $30.00 Hourly
