A dynamic and women-owned brand experience agency based in Chicago, is seeking an Exhibition Designer to join their growing, collaborative team. They specialize in creating immersive and memorable brand experiences that inspire, engage, and connect with audiences.

What You'll Do:
Design & Development (60%)

  • Take ownership of exhibition design projects from initial concept to final execution, ensuring creativity, originality, and attention to detail.
  • Develop compelling floor plans, mood boards, and detailed design concepts that reflect client objectives and brand identity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, sales, project management) to develop creative solutions that align with the client's vision and exceed expectations.
  • Oversee and support the development of graphic designs and technical renderings, while guiding independent industrial designers through the design and fabrication process.
  • Manage materials selection, production specifications, and assist with budgeting to ensure the integrity of designs is maintained throughout production.

Collaboration & Project Management (40%)
  • Work closely with design, sales, and project management teams to ensure all projects move smoothly through the creative pipeline.
  • Coordinate with project managers to set clear objectives and timelines, ensuring timely delivery of all design assets.
  • Provide constructive feedback to junior designers, promoting professional growth and maintaining a high standard of creative excellence.
  • Ensure the team delivers on project goals, tracking progress and resolving any challenges that arise during the design and production phases.

Required Skills & Experience:
  • 3+ years of professional experience in exhibition or experiential design, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate ideas and collaborate effectively with cross-disciplinary teams.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously, while maintaining a keen eye for detail and meeting deadlines.
  • Proactive, positive attitude with a strong sense of ownership, initiative, and accountability.
  • Valid Driver's License for occasional travel to client sites or vendor locations.

Desired Skills & Experience:
  • Deep understanding of the trade show exhibit design process, including experience with guiding the design and fabrication teams through rendering development, material selection, and production.
  • Strong knowledge of design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, CAD software), with an ability to produce clear, detailed design documents and presentations.
  • Experience in client-facing environments, with a proven track record of turning client feedback into actionable design solutions.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to contribute creatively and efficiently within a team while managing individual tasks.
