About the role: The Principal Instrumentation Technician is responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of instrumentation and control systems within the facility. This role ensures that all instrumentation is functioning correctly and efficiently, contributing to the safe and effective operation of the plant. The Principal Instrumentation Technician also provides technical guidance and support to junior technicians and collaborates with engineering and operations teams to enhance system reliability and performance.

Responsibilities

Instrumentation Management:

  • Install, calibrate, maintain, and repair instrumentation and control systems.
  • Ensure all instrumentation complies with industry standards and safety regulations.

Technical Leadership:

  • Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to junior technicians.
  • Develop and implement training programs for team members.

System Monitoring and Troubleshooting:

  • Monitor system performance and identify potential issues.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot instrumentation malfunctions, implementing corrective actions promptly.

Project Management:

  • Lead and manage instrumentation projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or technical diploma in Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in instrumentation and control systems, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or senior technician role.
  • Strong knowledge of instrumentation and control systems, including PLCs, DCS, SCADA, and HMI.
  • Direct prior Oil and Gas experience.
  • Plant support experience.
