What you will be doing: Enabling the delivery of a consistent level of service and data to our customer Playing a key role on a collaborative team, responsible for the design and production of mission critical, enterprise-scale business solutions Mentoring and coaching members of the team on technologies, implementation, and development best practices Developing a thorough understanding of the logistics business and risk management domains Maintaining an awareness of evolving technologies in use by other teams at Expeditors and in the technology industry as a whole This position is on-site and will reside in the greater Seattle, WA. area at one of the following locations depending on availability. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate. Relocation assistance is not offered for this position. Downtown Seattle Federal Way Lynnwood Bellevue (Factoria) MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS BS in Computer Science, a similar field of study, or comparable work experience Minimum 1-2 years of JAVA experiencece Curious, motivated to learn something new every day Fun, patient, and an active listener Customer service-oriented attitude and top-notch time management Experience writing unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience in Object-oriented programming and component-based development Experience with SQL and relational database design/development Understanding of Agile software development methodologies Experience programming with Java in professional setting Experience with Maven, Junit, Angular, Spring Boot, and IntelliJ IDE Experience with Distributed Systems, SOAP API design, and Apache Kafka Experience with Eclipse or Visual Studio Code IDE's, various plug-ins, Maven, Nexus Experience with Git, branching, and merge requests/pull requests Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation, security and monitoring Applicants are required to be eligible to lawfully work in the U.S. immediately; employer will not transfer or sponsor applicants for U.S. work authorization (such as an H-1B visa) for this opportunity. Expected base salary: $100,000 to $145,000 May be eligible for bonus following first year of continuous employment in position.
