This position is part of a small team responsible for the timely and accurate issuance of approximately $3 billion in food assistance and $300 million in cash assistance annually.
What You'll Do
• Monitor multiple daily account/benefit files between the eligibility system (Ohio Benefits) and benefit issuance system (EPPIC)
• Identify, research and communicate rejected records for resolution
• Conduct daily EBT and EPC reconciliation for benefit issuance and retailer payments
• Research and respond to inquiries regarding Food and Cash Assistance cases, benefits, accounts, cards through generalized email box
• System Test: review/provide input into testing plan; case creation; file needs; identify testing scenarios, gaps, risks; perform end-to-end user acceptance and regression testing
• Support fraud efforts: set up and load benefits to investigator accounts, research case transactions, respond to inquiries from the Department of Public Safety
• Respond and process expedited card requests from county agencies and legal aid
• Retailer testing: participate in preparation meetings, set up and load test cards, track test card inventory, request expungement of funds by federal partner
• Monitor the delivery of reports: benefits, performance, etc
• Pull, validate and provide data: audits, special initiatives, media and public records requests
• Farmer's Market Survey: create survey, email to known participating markets, collect data, liaison with food advocates, create annual directory, publish to ODJFS website
• Participate as an EBT SME in meetings: status, project planning, design sessions, testing, team touch bases
• Remain familiar with food and cash assistance policy and EBT industry standards
Schedule: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Travel: Travel required, as needed. Must provide own transportation or, in order to operate a state vehicle, you must have a valid drivers license.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate, at minimum, must have the following:
- Completion of undergraduate core coursework or 2 years exp. in social or behavioral science, pre-medicine, business administration, public administration, human services as defined in series purpose, or comparable field (note: this required education and/or experience shall not be applied to satisfy the following),
- For Ohio Benefits System positions, requires 24 mos. recent exp. (i.e., within past 5 years) in delivery of human services that included explaining & applying public assistance laws, policies & procedures mandated by Ohio Department of Job & Family Services & using Ohio Benefits and 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in operating personal computer & using Microsoft Office system software, that is Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, or like software package.
Technical & Professional Skills Utilized: Experience with Ohio Benefits, Windows applications and Federal/State policy; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; thorough, detail-oriented, and well organized; strong communication skills with diverse groups of people; ability to handle competing priorities.

Pay Information
T his position is in the State of Ohio's SEIU/1199 . Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be the minimum salary of that pay range (step 1, currently $31.86 per hour). These ranges provide a standardized pathway for pay increases. With continued employment, new hires move to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. Cost of Living Adjustments increase wages in these ranges each fiscal year. The current step progression wages are in the table below.
