Position Summary:
The Producing Agent is responsible for prospecting, soliciting, quoting, and acquiring new customers as well as renewal of current customers. Will be working with a P&C sales force for leads and cross selling opportunities.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for individual and team performance especially when working with the assigned CSR, promoting cooperative and supportive behavior within all positions.
  • Assists in the performance review processes, improvement plans, corrective action, etc.
  • Ensures professionalism in all aspects of team responsibilities, workflow compliance, attendance, time-off, quality of work, and interactions with clients and markets.
  • Actively completes individual training, education, and development programs, including individual coaching on an ongoing basis.
  • Works with their Managing Agent to improve performance, including audits of their work product, as necessary.
  • Develops marketing strategies and promotes all types of new insurance contracts or suggestions, additions/changes to existing ones.
  • Breeding productive relationships to create a pool of prospective clients from various sources by networking, cold calling, using referrals, etc.
  • Evaluating business or individual customers’ needs and financial status and proposing protection plans that meet their criteria.
  • Works with clients to deliver risk management strategies that fit their risk profiles.
  • Reports the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to their Managing Agent.
  • Maintains bookkeeping systems, database, and records.
  • Monitors insurance claims to ensure mutual satisfaction.
  • Achieves customer acquisition and revenue grown objectives.
  • Constantly updates and increases job knowledge and learns about new products and services, specifically carrier / broker specific products.
  • Fulfills all policy requirements.
  • Performs any other duties that might be assigned at any given time.
Required Skills and Competencies:

Education, Experience, and Abilities
  • Bachelor's degree in business preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and goal oriented.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Desire to continually learn new products and services.
  • Current and maintained licensing in Property, Casualty, and Life insurance with continuing education and all or some parts of one or more professional designations.
  • Proven working experience as an insurance agent or relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with all types of insurance plans (automobile, fire, life, property, commercial and residential, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present, influence and sell effectively.
  • Experience in delivering client-focused solutions and in creating long-lasting relationships.
