This Sr Software Project Manager will lead a team of software engineers in the research, development and support of internal software applications supporting the manufacturing, supply chain and quality systems. They will partner with internal stakeholders across the entire organization to define inputs for product development. They will be responsible for writing project documentation and specifications, and working with test engineers to coordinate and execute test plans. They are expected to understand the regulatory requirements regarding medical device software development and cybersecurity, and educate software development teams, as well as other departments, on these requirements. They work to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. They are expected to foster a collaborative and cooperative environment and develop strategies to drive high quality execution. Primary Responsibilities: Perform all work in compliance with company policy and within the guidelines of BioFire Diagnostics’ Quality System. Understand BioFire Diagnostics’ mission, values, and core technologies. Understand the enterprise systems used by BioFire Diagnostics. Lead groups of development and test engineers during all phases of the software development life cycle. Act as the project interface to other teams at BioFire Diagnostics including Production, Marketing, Regulatory, Engineering, and Biochemistry. Facilitate communication for the team. Set and communicate priorities and project milestones for the team. Identify obstacles to the team or project and manage solutions. Write software documentation. Match documentation to the intended audience. Work with the Director of Software Development and Associate Director of Software Development to ensure the software meets specifications and is delivered on time. Understand and accomplish department goals. Determine effort required to implement a software design. Suggest and implement improvements/enhancements to software based on customer and stake holder feedback. Education, Skills, & Experience: BS degree with 8+ years of project management experience required Experience in software projects and/or writing/maintaining software highly preferred Degree in Engineering, Scientific, or Technical field preferred PMP certification is a plus Experience with Jira is a plus Experience/knowledge of Agile/Scrum is a plus Technical writing/documentation Advanced planning, organization, and writing skills. Understanding of software engineering skills, including design, project organization, and configuration management preferred #LI-US
