Job Summary

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Requires flexible work schedule to meet program needs, which may include working days, evenings and/or weekends.
Requires the provision of official transcripts and/or certifications within (30) days of hire.
Applicants with academic credentials from non-U.S. accredited institutions are required to have their coursework evaluated in terms of U.S. "equivalency." All international credential evaluations must be conducted by one of the companies affiliated with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc. (NACES®) in order to be considered for a faculty position. Applicants bear the responsibility of requesting, paying associated fees, and obtaining an original transcript evaluation for submission to the Office of Human Resources. Essential Duties
Coordinate the development of classes and programs including determination of needs and interest, planning, implementation, and evaluation; communicate with community individuals, groups and College staff regarding grant related classes and programs.
- Plan, coordinate, organize, implement, schedule, and monitor assigned grant programs and services.
- Communicate and coordinate activities with other College departments, personnel, other community colleges, various governmental and community agencies, advisory committees, and the public.
- Develop accurate, comprehensive, and up-to-date program evaluation materials.
- Coordinate recruitment activities; prepare and provide informational materials to the public; contact special interest groups/population concerning grant related activities.
- Research and compile information and prepare various reports as needed.
- Establish and maintain liaison with community representatives, organizations and public agencies to encourage participation, stimulate interest and coordinate campus.
- If applicable, prepare course descriptions for content and accuracy for flyers, brochures, pamphlets, and course schedules.
- Attend a variety of advisory committees, on and off campus meetings, and professional meetings, conferences and workshops as approved.
- Coordinate partnerships with employers, community colleges and various local and state entities.
- Effectively represent the College to clients in accomplishing the goals and objectives of the grant.
- Other duties may be assigned.
The incumbent typically works in an office environment and uses a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed to perform duties. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office. Incumbent may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the work day.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear; frequently required to use repetitive hand motion, handle or feel, and to stand, walk, reach, bend or lift up to twenty (20) pounds.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university required.
- Minimum of two years of increasingly responsible experience in program management, preferable in a higher education setting.
- Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
- College organization, operations, policies, and procedures.
- Legislative processes related to grant funding.
- Available resources for grant related activities.
- Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Record-keeping techniques.
- Federal, state and local laws, codes and regulations as it relates to grants.
Preferences
• Prior grant writing experience.
• Experience with budgeting, finance, and program development.
