Shift Details:
Work as a Nurse Practitioner in the Department of Neurology, providing direct clinical management of stroke and TIA patients in an inpatient setting. Responsibilities include managing multiple patients, ordering and interpreting diagnostic results, managing medications, dictating clinic notes, patient/family education, and attending multidisciplinary meetings. Ideal candidates should have a graduate degree from an accredited Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner program, be licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Physician Assistant/Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the state of Connecticut, and have certification or be eligible to be certified as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. Neurology or stroke experience is preferred. Equal opportunity employer.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner program preferred
- Licensed, or eligible to be licensed, as a Physician Assistant/Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of Connecticut
- Certification or eligible to be certified as a Physician Assistant or National Board Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse through AACN or ANCC
- Board Certification as an acute care nurse practitioner preferred
- Neurology or stroke experience preferred
