General ability to classify soil Soil mechanics laboratory through college course work Introduction to geotechnical engineering through college course work Materials lab and college coursework Ability to work with a team Proficient with MS Office Suite Eventual Goals: Evaluation of soils for bearing capacity, subgrade modulus, seismic site classification, lateral earth pressures, analysis of laboratory test data and results, pressuremeter analysis, slope stability analysis, deep foundation design, and other related geotechnical engineering topics. PREFERRED BEHAVIORAL TRAITS: Personable, hard working, responsible, integrity, driven, willing to help, coachable, and organized. DESCRIPTION OF POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES : Work with our geotechnical team by assisting with geotechnical evaluations including coordination with clients, subcontractors, and other SME team members in Fort Wayne and other offices. Assistance with geotechnical evaluations including field activities and testing, and coordination with utility locators and field representatives for drilling. Performance of laboratory classification and testing of soils. Writing of geotechnical proposals and reports and collaboration of scopes of work and recommendations with senior level engineers. Assist with management of the Fort Wayne laboratory (soils and concrete). Assist with CMS projects in the Fort Wayne office, as needed, and to further construction understanding.
