Under l direction of the Internal Business Applications (IBA)/Business Systems & Policy Support Information Technology (IT) Manager I, the Information Technology (IT) Specialist I is responsible being California Department Technology's (CDT) IT department business relationship coordinator/liaison with external entities. The IT Specialist I serves as a strategic communicator, responsible for managing expectations, for application configuration and customizations and driving cross-functional collaboration to optimize service delivery. The IT Specialist I coordinates stakeholders to ensure application solutions meet CDT operational needs and business objectives. By engaging with key business stakeholders and facilitating clear, effective communication at all organizational levels, the IT Specialist I ensures the timely and successful execution of both application service and project delivery. The IT Specialist I ensures seamless collaboration across internal teams and external partners to support Office of Administrative Services (OAS) business teams.
Telework
This position is eligible to work remotely within California based on departmental guidelines and operational need. CDT has a minimum in-office requirement of four days per week for all positions including those that are eligible for telework. The telework policy is subject to change, and additional in-office days may be required and/or minimal notification may be given to report to the worksite if an urgent need arises.

- Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience with PeopleSoft Financials
- Knowledge and experience with PeopleSoft Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Human Capital Management and Enterprise Learning Management
- Demonstrated ability to communicate technology fundamentals to business teams
- Knowledge of core financial business processes and operations
- Knowledge and experience in project management practices for managing application upgrades, migrations, and other IT projects.
- Knowledge and experience in change management involving business processes and organizational change
- Knowledge and experience in Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid methodologies.
- Knowledge and experience working in a large, complex, and customer-focused service delivery environment
