Position Summary:

  • Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients utilizing the nursing process
  • Lead and provide clinical guidance to other staff members
  • Assume relief charge duties when designated
  • Act as a role model to promote a positive work environment and quality patient care
  • Ensure adherence to Hospital and Departmental Policies and Procedures
  • Work with various age groups including Neonate, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric patients

Detailed responsibilities:

  • Deliver safe direct care to assigned patients
  • Implement and document individualized care plans incorporating age-specific considerations
  • Assist with special tests and procedures and ensure proper consent
  • Participate in orientation and assume precepting and evaluation responsibilities for new personnel
  • Administer medication, including IV medication, and document clinical findings
  • Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients/families
  • Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs and workshops
  • Follow patient safety-related policies and demonstrate a proactive approach to patient safety
  • Identify and report/correct environmental conditions and situations that may put a patient at undue risk
  • Encourage patients to actively participate in their own care

Qualifications

  • Education: Program Graduate, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (preferred)
  • No minimum experience required
  • CPR certification for Healthcare/BLS and RN license in the state of practice
  • National Certification in area of specialty (preferred)
  • Physical Conditions: Heavy Work
  • Working conditions: Sig Hazard: Chemicals, Bio Hazardous Materials req PPE
