Purpose Statement

Accomplish the flow of all raw materials and finished products into and out of the freezer using the Warehouse Management System by performing certain assigned tasks manually entering various forms into the computer system, checking and distributing reports and registers, etc. Contributes to the profit and well-being of the Company by performing tasks in a safe, efficient, timely, accurate, quality-conscious, and cost-conscious manner and by working in a cooperative manner with his/her supervisor and co-workers.

- 1st Shift (7:00am - 3:30pm)

Key Accountabilities and Outcomes

Learn, in general, all phases of controlling the flow of product into and out of the freezer and dry warehouse on his/her assigned shift using the Warehouse Management System. Performs specific tasks associated with this process including, but not limited to:
• Entering orders or requests for raw materials accurately and in a timely manner and printing out the necessary register
• Ensuring transfer orders are picked up by plant order person and he/she delivers product in a timely fashion.
• Ensuring the efficient return of unused raw materials to inventory
• Establishes inbound and outbound appointments for freezer and dry warehouses accurately and in a timely manner according to preset guidelines.
• Compares dry and freezer warehouse counts to inventory systems accurately and in a timely manner according to preset guidelines and makes adjustments as required.
• Analyzes cost variances for reasonableness accurately and in a timely manner according to preset guidelines. Makes decisions without undue dependence upon supervisor.
• Processes tags and shipments on customer's website accurately and in a timely manner according to preset guidelines.
• Having knowledge of warehouse dumps procedure and handling those not requiring upper management approval
• Performing Bin to Bin run to clear out partial bays
• Allocating freezer and dry warehouse space for product unloaded from trucks at our docks; this includes transfers-in, purchases, and customer returns
• Reserving product for outbound shipments, double-checking for errors or problems, according to preset guidelines
• Performing "Special Reservationist" functions as needed
• Performing "Adjustment" procedures as necessary according to preset guidelines
• Performing other functions of the Warehouse Management System as necessary and according to preset guidelines
• Applies all safe work practices associated with these tasks. Works in safe manner at all times.
• Applies all GMP requirements, both personal hygiene and housekeeping, associated with these tasks and keeps work area clean at all times.
• Identifies problems at his/her assigned work tasks on an on-going basis and determines if solution is within his/her training and knowledge; if so, corrects problem; if not or if not sure, communicates to appropriate person for solution.
• Develops and maintains a good working relationship with Shipping Team Leader and other managers, department managers, and other co-workers. Resolves problems and conflicts in an acceptable manner that shows respect for the other person(s).
• Cooperates and shows commitment to department goals and efforts.
• Works to understand overall impact of his/her job on department productivity and plant profitability; maintains high level of personal productivity and contributes suggestions for work process improvement to Shipping Team Leader or at department meetings.
• Follows plant rules and policies and Company Code of Ethics in performing job.
• Assists in orienting and/or training other team members on assigned tasks as requested.
• Assists in cycle counts in dry and freezer warehouses when requested.
• Assists in sanitation responsibilities outlined by the Team Leaders.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Must have 3-5 years experience in office administration. Warehouse administration preferred, but not required.
  • Strong keyboard and 10-key keypad skills
  • Effective communication with peers and superior
  • Excellent proofreading and problem-solving skills
  • Self-starting ability.
  • High school level math, reading, writing, communication
  • Microsoft Word and Excel knowledge required
  • Business office skills
  • Demonstrated skills and effective work habits in an office when there is a heavy workload; Multi-tasking.
  • Looking for individuals with strong computer literacy to effectively utilize digital tools and software programs (SAP).
