Overview The Physical Therapist II will perform evaluation and subsequent planning, execution, and supervision of therapy programs for persons with neuromotor dysfunction. The Physical Therapist II participates in intradisciplinary and interdisciplinary training programs for affiliating students, staff, and community agencies and may provide clinical supervision of physical therapy students, physical therapist assistants and physical therapy aides; and maintains appropriate patient records. Responsibilities Evaluate assigned patients; plan programs; execute, supervise, and document programs as planned. Participate in the development and execution of policies and procedures Participate in performance improvement projects, service excellence, and prepare for certification/review by outside regulatory agencies Provide instruction to caregivers regarding home and community programming. Maintain written documentation, including patient reports, according to procedures of department, Institute, and Maryland PT guidelines. Develop and/or coordinate all patient and staff education programs within area of specialty and assure continuity in clinical and patient education programs as part of the orientation process. Supervise affiliating students and clinical staff as assigned. Assist in training and the development of treatment protocols and clinical policies and procedures in area of specialty. Assist in care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies Qualifications *Individual must demonstrate competence across all age groups due to the diversity of the children and families served by KKI. *Clinical care focus is on the neonate, pediatric, and adolescent populations, as well as some adults with disabilities. Must be able to maintain a high level of expertise and leadership in area of specialty. Must be able to effectively function within an intra/interdisciplinary team and participate in like activities. EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited program in physical therapy. EXPERIENCE: Three years experience in Physical Therapy with at least two years documented experience in area of specialty. Experience in pediatrics and/or rehabilitation and treatment preferred.
