GENERAL SUMMARY:

Serves as a resource and support for initial and ongoing development/administration of a Microsoft Power BI Premium capacity for the enterprise. Uses understanding of Power BI to innovate and develop solutions within the software with speed and accuracy. Responsible for building reports/dashboards to serve business needs. Works with a combination of creativity and adaptability with strong expectation management and time management skills. Ensures that deliverables are intuitive for users at every level with the ability to turn abstract needs into tangible solutions. Frequently translates complex data into actionable insights. Works closely with the Senior Power BI Developer, collaborating to grow and maintain the Power BI data infrastructure. Responsible for the full cycle of dashboard development: from intake and scoping to development, refinement, and maintenance.

PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  2. *Technical support in Power BI, able to act as a provider of solutions for the enterprise.
  3. *Builds Data Analytics enterprise semantic data models using Microsoft's Power BI and assists business users with functional and data requirements to enhance data models.
  4. *Coordinates with other Data Analytics team members to improve data requirements collection, data integration, data analytics, and business intelligence techniques.
  5. *Understands the typical healthcare data architectures and data warehousing standards.
  6. *Designs, develops, and implements database structures and data models for efficient data storage and retrieval.
  7. *Converts business requirements into user-friendly and storytelling reports and dashboards in Power BI.
  8. *Develops, publishes, schedules, and maintains data visualizations, reports, and dashboards using Power BI and analytics tools.
  9. *Creates and optimizes SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
  10. *Collaborates with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to gather requirements and to understand their reporting needs, translate them into technical specifications, and provide them with actionable insights.
  11. Develops and maintains business intelligence solutions using various tools and technologies.
  12. Supports continuous improvement initiatives for increasing efficiency, streamlining, and standardizing processes, reducing costs, and improving quality.
  13. Assists leadership and the Data Analytics department members with assigned and requested business analysis, performance management, and continuous improvement projects.
  14. Optimizes and troubleshoots data and visuals using various techniques, including Performance Analyzer.
  15. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
  16. Participates in meetings, committees and department projects as assigned.
  17. Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  1. Demonstrated knowledge of Power BI Services (Apps and Workspaces), Kimball data modeling, data transformations, DAX language, Power Query (M code), data visualization, and solution architecture.
  2. Demonstrated knowledge in business intelligence development, including Kimball data modeling, ETL processes, and reporting/dashboarding.
  3. Knowledge of scripting languages such as Power Shell Scripting or VBA for automation tasks.
  4. Demonstrated history of analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex datasets and derive meaningful insights.
  5. Skill in access, security/row-level security, database design principles, and Microsoft best practices.
  6. Significant, demonstrated ability in SQL for querying and manipulating large datasets.
  7. Ability to utilize Microsoft Power platform and service (Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, Power Automate, Power Apps, Cortana, etc.). Understanding of Power BI Admin Portal settings and options.
  8. Ability to effectively interact with customers, demonstrating a broad range of Power BI knowledge and ability.
  9. Ability to deliver excellent customer service by doing more than just the job while being prompt, courteous and sensitive to the customer.
  10. Ability to organize, prioritize, multi-task and efficiently complete work assignments.
  11. Ability to utilize Dax Studio and Tabular Editor.
  12. Ability to maintain confidentiality relevant to sensitive information, with and understanding of Power BI privacy and sensitive levels of protection.
  13. Ability to support multiple applications or modules and multiple business groups.
  14. Ability to analyze problems, identify needs/priorities/risks, manage change, and implement effective work strategies.
  15. Ability to problem solve and engage independent critical thinking skills.
  16. Ability to prioritize work demands and work with minimal supervision.
  17. Ability to maintain confidentiality relevant to sensitive information.
  18. Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Management or related field required. A minimum of three (3) years related work experience with a minimum of one (1) year of Power BI experience required.

OTHER CREDENTIALS / CERTIFICATIONS:

Must have internet connectivity off-premises to respond to work requests when necessary.

Per leader's discretion - If assigned to drive Bryan owned vehicles, a valid driver's license, and verification and maintenance of responsible driving record per facility standards required.
