This role reports to Director of Tax Reporting and has one direct report, Tax Technology Analyst. This role is a highly visible role working closely with other team members, including VP of Taxes, and has a great opportunity for continued career growth. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented and analytical professional with extensive knowledge of ASC 740 reporting requirements for U.S.-based multinational companies. As a Tax Reporting Manager, you will be responsible for key aspects of UL Solution’s global annual and interim consolidated income tax reporting obligations, ETR and cash tax forecasting and will play a critical role in the calculation of the global income tax provision in accordance with ASC 740. You will oversee tax forecasting in close partnership with departmental colleagues as well as with those in Financial Planning & Analysis. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with the broader global Tax team and work cross functionally with various Finance teams in and outside the US Responsibilities: Prepares and reviews global annual and interim consolidated income tax provision and related SEC disclosures, ensuring accuracy and timely completion in compliance with ASC 740. Calculates and tracks key ETR drivers, such as executive compensation limitations under Section 162(m) and valuation allowances. Conducts research and interprets ASC 740 standards as well as domestic and international tax laws as needed. Leads the tax reporting and SOX controls processes and continues to identify and implement process improvements to streamline tax reporting processes. Coordinates with foreign affiliate contacts to collect tax provision packages as well as gathering cash tax data. Collaborates with other team member and manage Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) documentation requirements for income tax reporting. Manages the performance of direct reports by defining accountabilities, establishing performance objectives, providing career counseling, feedback and guidance. Partners with FP&A and other stakeholders to prepare and manage the global ETR and cash tax forecast. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a tax-related field. A master's in tax or a comparable advanced degree is highly preferred. Minimum of 5 years with Big 4 accounting firm and/or corporate/in-house experience with U.S.-based multinational public company. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and experience with tax accounting and reporting under ASC 740. Proficient in OneSource Tax Provision software and its add-in applications such as DataFlow and Workpapers or similar provision software. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining excellent quality. Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills to convey complex tax matters with simplicity and clarity to non-experts across the organization. Must be a Certified Public Accountant.
