Associate Performance Improvement Specialist- CH Process Engineering- Full-Time/Days

The Associate Performance Improvement Specialist is an entry-level role designed to help an individual develop project management and process improvement skills through a combination of hands-on experiences and mentoring. The role will offer a unique opportunity to interact with leaders and participate in improving outcomes across the health system such as clinical quality, productivity, and patient experience. Successful candidates will learn and apply new skills in support of existing projects, be challenged with autonomy in leading future projects, and advance to roles such as Process Engineer, Project Manager, or within a functional area such as Operations, Human Resources, Finance, etc.

Responsibilities
Participate in and support training sessions on Lean methodology targeted to all levels of the organization. Practice concepts and tools ultimately coaching others on their use.
Coach leaders at the Supervisor and Manager levels as they apply Lean throughout their areas of responsibility. Advise them in mentoring and coaching their teams.
Lead projects tied to key areas of need and monitor outcomes to track the impact improvements have on relevant KPIs. Assist with rapid improvement event facilitation when appropriate.
Support scoping activities of projects to ensure efforts are aligned to key organizational goals. This may include requirement gathering and vendor selection activities in partnership with business units and key internal stakeholders.
Identify and engage key resources needed to execute deliverables. Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure there is clarity around project roles, responsibilities, and expectations.
Work with project teams to define a detailed schedule, scope, and budget. Execute the project using those plans and communicate and manage exceptions as needed.
Establish project specific communication plan based on departmental standard and individual project needs and follow that plan over the life of the project.
Develop and implement strategies for mitigating project risks and issues as they arise.
Ensure project deliverables meet the highest quality standards and approved business needs are met.
Conduct patient safety focused Root Cause Analysis and other related improvement work.
Actively pursue professional development and seek to continuously expand knowledge.

Qualifications
Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Business Management or equivalent; will also accept relevant years of work experience that demonstrate ability to meet minimum requirements of position.
Required Experience: 0-2 years of relevant experience
Preferred Certifications and Licensures: PMP or Associate PMP certification; Lean and/or Six Sigma certification.
