Job Title: Order Sorter

Department: Bakery

FLSA: Non-Exempt

General Function

Accurately selects orders for stores. Selects highest quality fresh products. Verifies dated product during selection to ensure freshness.

Reporting Relations

Accountable and Reports to: Plant Manager; Assistant Plant Manager; Operations Manager

Positions that Report to you: None

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Accurately selects orders for stores.
  • Selects highest quality fresh products. Verifies dated product during selection to ensure freshness.
  • Research out of stock items and attempt to restock before shorting the customer.
  • Maintains or exceeds pick rate goals as determined by the individual Fulfillment Center.
  • Adheres to company policies and individual center guidelines.
  • Reports to work when scheduled and on time.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities

Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required.

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics

  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to relate to and interact with people in a friendly, professional manner

Physical Requirements
  • Visual requirements include: ability to see detail at near range with or without correction
  • Must be physically able to perform medium work: occasionally lifting or carrying objects of no more than 50 pounds, with frequent standing, walking, and lifting/carrying of objects of no more than 25 pounds
  • Must be able to perform the following physical activities: stooping, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions


Working Conditions

The duties of this position are mostly performed in a warehouse setting. This position maybe exposed to dust, noise, and temperature extremes. There are possible hazards from moving equipment and possible electrical shock. There is constant pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects in a day. This is a fast paced work environment.
